Experience our gourmet region in South Tyrol

Typically Vinschgau & genuinely good

Upper Vinschgau delights with its rich natural variety and all that grows and thrives here. In this wide Alpine valley with its striking contrasts, farming has always played an important role. Sun, wind and little rainfall create the typical Vinschgau micro-climate. It brings forth sweet fruits and high-quality regional products.

The fruit-growing zone stretches from 500 to 1,500 metres above sea level. The higher the orchards, the richer the flavour. Vinschgau is known for its fruit such as the old Palabirne pear and the Marille apricot, as well as cherries and berries you can still buy directly from the farms. Many small producers also offer guided farm tours and tastings. Alpine cheese, dairy products and the traditional Vinschger Paarl bread are just some of the local delicacies not to be missed.

Rye, spelt and buckwheat - once staples from the former granary of Tyrol - are still the heart of Upper Vinschgau cuisine today. Food lovers can enjoy these authentic specialities and farm products at markets, directly from the farm or in local restaurants.
