The quiet hamlet of Prämajur, above Burgeis and at the foot of Watles, belongs to the municipality of Mals. Only a few dozen people live in this small settlement, which stands for simplicity, peace and closeness to nature.
Far from the hustle and bustle, visitors enjoy wide views over the Oberer Vinschgau, a panorama of forests and meadows, and a true sense of authenticity. With just a handful of farms blending harmoniously into the landscape, Prämajur has kept its rural character and down-to-earth charm.

To the Pfaffenseen lakes
Two crystal-clear mountain lakes resting in the high mountains. Like pearls they lie scattered between the Zerzertal valley and Watles. Can you already sense the mountain idyll? Hike on moderately demanding trails from the Plantapatsch mountain hut towards the Pfaffenseen lakes.

Right at the valley station and in the middle of the snowy paradise: Prämajur is your winter basecamp at the Ski & Adventure Mountain Watles. Take everything winter has to offer: Skiing on snow-sure slopes, tobogganing from the mountain station down into the valley, winter walks and snowshoe tours on groomed and snowy trails. Enjoy action, peace, sun and snow!
Ski & Adventure Mountain Watles
Get ready for fun on the slopes! This family favourite ski area offers 18 sunny and snow-sure kilometres of pistes, wide downhill runs, modern lifts, the Bubo children’s park, a toboggan run and cosy huts for every taste.
Toboggan run
Toboggan fun right on the doorstep? Every winter in Prämajur. By chairlift or on foot you reach the start of the natural toboggan run, more than four kilometres long - one of the most beautiful of its kind in all of South Tyrol. Helmet on and head off. Cruise down towards Prämajur!
Plantapatschhut
Winter magic meets mountain hut moments. After skiing or tobogganing, your stop here is richly rewarded: with South Tyrolean specialities, friendly company, the cosy warmth of a rustic parlour or the sunshine on a terrace. Just sit down, warm up and savour.
Höfer Alm
Above Prämajur, right on the alpine trail around Watles, lies the rustic Höfer Alm. Here you can look forward to fresh, home-made, regional specialities. Sounds tempting? Head for this delightful hut on foot, on skis or with snowshoes.
To the Watles Cross
The route to the 2557-metre-high summit is beginner-friendly, safe and full of views. From Prämajur, the way leads over sunny slopes in open terrain up to the summit cross. The panorama there is phenomenal. Stay a while and soak it up!

Location & arrival
Prämajur lies in the Oberer Vinschgau in the west of South Tyrol, above Burgeis and directly on the sunny slope of the Adventure Mountain Watles.
From the north:
Innsbruck Landeck
From Innsbruck and the Fernpass the route continues over the Reschenpass and along the state road to Burgeis, then turn right and follow through the Schlinigtal valley to Prämajur.
From the south:
Bozen Meran
The MEBO express road (Meran-Bozen) leads directly into the Vinschgau state road, which takes you via Mals to Burgeis, then turn left and continue through the Schlinigtal valley to Prämajur.
Whether arriving from the north, west or south - Prämajur can also be reached easily and conveniently by public transport.
