Experience the markets of the Vinschgau in South Tyrol
action and activity throughout the year
Market traditions in the Vinschgau go back centuries. At this alpine crossroads, the exchange of goods has been a cornerstone of the local economy since ancient times. Glurns has held market rights since 1291, Mals since 1642. Some of these historic markets continue as living traditions today.
The Georgimarkt in spring is the valley’s most famous plant and flower market, while the Gollimarkt in mid-October marks the end of the harvest season. The Sealamorkt in Glurns is another highlight.
Then, as now, farmers’, weekly, and Christmas markets across the region invite visitors to browse, shop, and indulge. Discover regional specialities, crafts, flowers, textiles, leather goods, and the authentic Vinschgau spirit that pervades the markets.

Annual markets
These traditional markets take place on specific days and are highlights for locals and visitors alike. As the saying goes: each market is a celebration. In April, visit the Georgimarkt in Mals, the valley’s famous plant and flower market. June is all about the St. Veit-Markt at Tartscher Bühel.
The colourful autumn market in Glurns kicks off the golden season. That is followed by the Rosenkranzmarkt in Schluderns and the Palabiramarkt in Glurns. The traditional Gollimarkt in Mals and the Lootscher-Markt in October roundoff the harvest festivities. In November, the whole valley gathers for the Sealamorkt, the traditional All Souls’ Market in Glurns.
Christmas markets
The “Glurnser Advent” is one of the most romantic in all of South Tyrol: over 45 stalls, traditional music, theatre performances, and crafts for children create a contemplative experience far removed from the kitsch and hectic of other events.
“Liebgoldene Weihnachten” in Schluderns exudes festive charm, while “Mitnond im Malser Advent” offers a warm, atmospheric programme. During “Advent in Dorf an dr Grenz,” heart-warming encounters are arranged in Taufers. Not to be missed: the small, charming “Schleiser Weihnachtsmarkt” christmas market” with its nativity exhibition and cosy atmosphere.
