Saint Benedict Church

Visit one of the oldest churches still standing in Europe.
The small St. Benedict's Church, dating back to the 8th century AD, features Carolingian wall paintings inside,
which are among the oldest frescoes in Western Europe. A building from the 8th century. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century.
The paintings and Carolingian frescoes inside are among the oldest in the entire German-speaking world.
The church houses the only portrait of a Frankish landlord in the world.
Opening hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Meeting point: 10:00 to 11:30 at the church!!
Price: €3 per person
On Saturday the visit is includet in the Lake Resia Guest Pass
(Only in German und Italian)
If interested, guided tours are also available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
