Romanesque Day at Müstair Abbey
Tour “Color Layers in St. Johann Müstair Abbey” in the Ulrich Chapel and the Norpert Cellar on October 11, 2026

The free tour takes place at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Meeting point is in front of the monastery shop la butia.

Beyond the historic walls, away from the abbey church, a vibrant world of images opens up, featuring Romanesque frescoes, the bishop’s residence,
and the two-story chapel. In the Ulrich Chapel and the Norpert Hall, painting and stucco merge into
tangible symbolic worlds – fantastic sea creatures, the glassy sea, and the continuous cycle of Christ make faith tangible.
