Theater/Film/Screenings ,
Presentation of the film on the tragic story of the submergence of the villages of Curon, Resia and San Valentino and the consequent suffering of the population
A film by Georg Lembergh and Hansjörg Stecher
Experience an emotional evening at the cinema with the documentary "The Sunken Village", which tells the tragic story of the village of Curon in Lake Resia. In the 1940s, the idyllic village was submerged by a state dam project, leaving only the famous submerged bell tower visible. The film takes viewers on an emotional journey through the history of this village and its inhabitants, who suddenly lost their home. Through touching portraits, questions of belonging and the loss of home are raised, as viewers become witnesses to how the disappearance of a village forever changed the lives of its people.
